Abstract

The aim of the study was to find out if finger painting techniques could improve children's fine motor skills after 4-5 years at Teratai I Early Childhood Education, Pinayungan Village, Telukjambe Timur District, Karawang Regency. This research is a classroom action research with a research design using Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The research was carried out in semester II of the 2019/2020 school year from, September to December 2019. The subjects of this study were 23 students, children aged 4-5 years. Data collection was carried out using observation sheet guides, giving tests, student work, and documentation. Data analysis is descriptive and presented in the form of tables and graphs based on learning outcomes in each cycle by calculating the percentage using the formula P = f/n x 100%. The results showed that the children's fine motor skills in each cycle had increased, as seen from the development of the Very Well Developed category where in the pre-cycle conditions it was still 17%, then after learning through the fingerpainting technique it increased 43% in cycle I and became 78% in cycle II. This increase has exceeded the minimum target with a percentage value of 75% of children's classical learning completeness.
