Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Thawalib must follow the guidelines of this journal's authors and be submitted through the OJS environment. Submitted manuscripts must discuss scientific benefits or novelty per the objectives and scope. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism, and all authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to check similarities.

The editorial team will review incoming articles as an initial process. The editorial team will evaluate the appropriateness of the article's content, focus, and methodology. The article is then sent to 2 (two) reviewers at the position of the Double Bind peer review Process. Reviewer notes are then returned to the authors to adjust to the journal's writing standards. The decision on the revised manuscript will be re-evaluated at the editorial board meeting. Later, the author will be informed of the editorial decision at the meeting.

The editor makes decisions based on the reviewer's recommendations.

Screening for Plagiarism

To ensure that submitted and published articles are plagiarism-free, editors will use Turnitin's web-based software to check the similarity index with a quality standard of 20%. This occurs when the author submits the article for the first time (submission) and the second or subsequent time (revision/after being revised based on reviewer input).

If the article meets the standards, it can be processed to the next stage (review or publication). Otherwise, the author will be asked to correct it.

Apart from using Turnitin, the editor will also check with Google Scholar and other sources. This step is intended to ensure that articles are neither the result of plagiarism nor have already been sent/published to other journals (double submission).
